Dream Wedding #3: The Boutonniere

I have never once spelled boutonniere right the 1st time.

It's kinda pathetic because I've pinned boutonnieres so many times on Pinterest

yet I always have to use spell check to fix it.

Hmm.. what would I do without spell check? 

Oh that's right.. I'd spell boutonniere wrong on the daily.

:)

Anyway, I love boutonnieres, especially the non-traditional ones 

since I'm kinda a non-traditional sort of person.

& I figured what better to follow up the Dream Wedding Series after wedding dresses

then something for the man of our dreams?! 

But going back to my wedding dress post...

Since then I have been spotting a lot more fabulous dresses I love

Dream Wedding #3

So many fun ideas out there!

I love how creative some weddings are! 

I definitely want mine to be like that.. someday... :) 

Although, speaking of weddings...

My friend & I had a pretty serious conversation last night about marriage.

How do you have a happy marriage & make it work?

Sure, everyone goes into it thinking this is going to last forever...

But I mean how often is that true?

It's just scary to think about...

I hope someday I am in a happy marriage that lasts

With lots & lots of BABIES!!!! 

& puppies...

This is a really cool one!!! I forgot to add to my inspiration board,

but I really like it!!! 

Today is the day I leave for the conference.

Funny story about that actually.
Yesterday I was running around like a madman trying to

get all my errands done before going out of town.

So I thought we were leaving @3 then Layla says can we leave @2...

So as I am rushing home, I frantically text her saying

"ok, almost home, gotta walk/feed/medicate Winnie, grab food, 

then I'm ready shall I meet you & your place or you wanna come here?!?!"

She calls me...

Says... "Uhh, Nicole you know we aren't leaving till tomorrow right?"

...........

Well, in the end it was really nice to have the day off.

I packed a lot of my stuff for moving (fingers crossed we are approved for the house!)

I walked Winnie for an hour & a half & she chased some geese into the lake & 

I went out for a drink with a friend to catch up.

Good day & a funny story, what more can you ask for?

Friday Fancies #20: Pink & Pinteresting

This weeks Friday Fancies theme is Pinterest inspiration? SERIOUSLY?!  Isn't everything on Pinterest inspiration!? Hmmm... I am strrrugggllinggg. Okay, must not get distracted by all the amazing style inspiration on Pinterest. Back to the Pinterest board.

5 minutes later... got it.

HOT PINK. [The original pinterest inspiration pin is the hot pink Barbie-like bangles that I actually really love.] I have avoided hot pink like the plague since 2010 because my college room/house was oh-so-pink. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved it then... especially our hot pink errr... "laundry table".. But let's just say I got sick of it all at once & had to just get rid of it. Anyway, back to pink for my Pink & Pinteresting Friday Fancies!

On an entirely & completely random side note...

& this may be TMI, but if you know me well you will know I am all about the TMI...

Anyway, we had spaghetti for dinner last night.

& let me tell you it was my dad's recipe & was the best spaghetti I've ever had 

[other than when he cooks it]

But that's besides the point...

SO, before bed I used a Q-tip to clean my ears...

& ummm either there was dried blood in my ear (which really freaks me out) 

or what is more probable is that it was spaghetti sauce.

Anyway, I'm really hoping spaghetti sauce because blood kinda scares me.

Alright, the end of my TMI moment. :)

Dream Wedding #2: The Dress

Working at a bridal shop, I see a lot of different dress styles. 

& although you'd think this would help me to have an idea of what I would want...

I feel like it makes it even harder.

Because I see so many pretty styles that I want them all.

But I have to say I definitely think the mermaid is one of my favorite cuts...

So this Dream Wedding Edition is all about the dress

& some fun accessories for the bride. 

Dream Wedding #2: The Dress

Oh hey, on another note this is my first inspiration board using Photoshop...

& I am loving it. 

It is only like 20 million times easier to use...

Because with my old program once I was done altering one image I couldn't go back

to one of the old ones to alter it...

Such a pain. But this is so easy I am actually making my inspiration board while in class.

[Shhhhh....secret.]

Although I'm sad because my Photoshop is just a trial... 

Too bad my birthday is like a year away! Haha.

On a complete side note but a really huge side note...

Chris & I are moving in together in the near future...

Hopefully February 1st if we get accepted in time!

& on a really good side note, my dad approves!

definitely missed the 2nd episode!!!! 

During the 1st Date: Emily

She almost kinda looks like Ali... or is it just me?

&& BAHAHAHAHA

Jennifer was really just looking through the telescope?

This show is way too overproduced.

I'm actually sort of embarrassed now that I'm even watching it... And Ben did the only thing he could think of? Give her a kiss... I can't handle this show right now. I will admit though the story about her online dating & her brother responding to her is hilarious... I don't think she will be the one but I think she will last awhile. And it doesn't even surprise me there are fireworks going off while they kiss... LOL. 

During the Group Date:

This episodes makes me wanna go snowboarding. Hahahah at the girl who did the splits! I really like Kacie B & think she is probably my favorite. 2 people I'm not really fans of? Rachel & Blakeley. 

Can't believe Brittney goes home before her date. She probably won't regret leaving, but I'm sure her grandma will!

I think she is really cute!!! 

They sure are making out a lot, I'm sure she'll get a rose!

And I can't believe how she was dumped... Welcome to Dumpsville? Population 0? Really?

I think she'll stay around a little while for sure.

I can't believe Shawntel comes on the show? How weird. I really appreciate Jennifer's forwardness. Its always the gingers!!! Hahah. I am so confused... how/when did Shawntel & Ben meet? At a viewing of the show or something?!

Wander

Gosh.

I know this blog isn't really focused on my personal life...

But, lately I have been having a tough time.

I'm in a living situation that is less than desirable,

I'm not making much money,

I'm going back to school in classes that I feel are above my level,

& I just feel sort of like I'm wandering.

At times I have to reassure myself that I am on the right path,

& that things will all work out & I'm taking the right steps.

But at other times, I completely doubt myself.

& start to worry that I'm on the path to nothing.

That once I'm done doing everything I'm doing for this reason I will be nowhere.

So, I have to say... seeing this on Pinterest today made me almost tear up.

(I know I know, I cry way too easily.)

But it just sort of made me feel like everything will be alright.

I guess everybody has days like these,

But I am sick of them being so frequent 

& am hoping these feelings of insecurity & uncertainness vanish quickly.

But I sort of feel like maybe that's just life.

Southern Girls Bridal Expo

Yesterday Layla & I worked at the Southern Girls Bridal Expo!

She is the owner of Simply Savannah Events & I am her assistant!

It was a lot of fun meeting brides & seeing other companies in the industry!

Of course one of the most fun parts was setting up our booth! 

I love the way it all turned out! 

I made the chevron table cloths (surprise surprise!) & used some of 

my chevron fabric & the same color floral fabric scraps to wrap it around the cigar box & vase.

It was a really fun rustic/DIY/vintage/chic setup & I am just loving it all!

One of Layla's visions for her company is being green & environmentally friendly,

& I would have to say our booth really fit within her business,

I think the only thing that she bought for the whole booth was the flowers,

But everything else was all things that she & I already had.

I am really loving the cigar boxes & scrabble pieces!
