Sundays at Home #18: Chairs, chairs + more chairs

I know I have been MIA lately...
I have been so crazy busy it is kind of getting ridiculous.
Wedding season is in full force now + I've been prepping everything for this spring's weddings...
Also, we have gotten a lot of new inquiries lately which is so exciting!
We have started booking more and more weddings for 2014 which is also really exciting!
I love being busy so it's like been so much fun!!
Although, being so busy makes it so hard to keep blogging...
But today I have some free time finally + so I wanted to put together a little blog post.
I stumbled across Industry West today + am pretty obsessed.
I have this weird obsession with unique chairs.
I don't know where it comes from but I hate boring chairs.
I mean haaaate.
I think if you had asked me a year ago what my favorite type of chair is I would have said a couch?
But now... no I would say ghost chairs, eiffel based chairs, tufted chaise lounges...
So anyway, back to Industrial West.
Loving the chairs... here are some of my favorites I just might have to add some to our home.

Seriously loving the industrial look.
Think it would fit with our super modern living room?
I'm thinking yes.

Moving In: Baby Steps

Gosh... I haven't blogged on here in forever...
My life has been a crazy whirlwind lately with no end in sight.
I love it though don't get me wrong.
I am not the kind of person that likes to have idle time.
I mean 20 minutes... that's fine.
Or even an hour... that's good.
But more than 2 hours of nothing to do & I'm bored.
Anyway, decorating the house + setting stuff up has been the funnest thing ever.
Here are some sneak peaks of what we've bought so far...

It's coming together slowly but surely...
Baby steps right?
Ahhhh so much to do though.
I'll post some progress pictures soon!
Thanks for still following my blog even though I've taken a break lately!
Also, would love it if you would check out my new blog, Simply Savannah Events!
I would love the support!!! Thank you!

First Home #1: First Splurges

So I am currently in the process of trying to get a house. The waiting is not fun... but I'll tell you what is fun. Finding furniture... aside from my college rooms I have decorated one apartment & the house we rent now. The truth is... I hate the interior decor. Absolutely hate it. When finding things to put in the house I focused more on price than what I liked... which ultimately led to a house filled with things I liked for about 2.5 milliseconds, which is totally pointless because while I may have saved money in the short run I wasted money in the long run because I have only used the things for a few months before giving the stuff to Good Will. So while decorating our first home I am not going to do this anymore. I know if I do this I will save money in the long run. Here are my first two big splurges. And even though I say big it's not really that big, but big for me. Baby steps first right? The chair was only $130 and the mirror was from Joss & Main and was on sale for $138 and after refreshing the page about 200 times in an hour I finally was able to get the last mirror available!!!!

I am pretty excited to get both of these in the mail! I have been eyeing ghost chairs for forever and knew I wanted one in my home office. I also loved this mirror. I love the shape and the girliness of it. It will also be in my home office. I have a vision and I hope it comes out as pretty as it is in my head. I know I want one striped accent wall in a dark almost black navy color, with the other walls being totally navy. White crown molding. A pretty chandelier. Shelves with the dark color in the back. A bold graphic print rug. Maybe trellis or chevron or scallops? Maybe a bright yellow? I want lots of framed wedding inspiration to create a gallery wall. And I am going to revamp our current dining room table and paint it black so that I have a large desk area. Cannot wait!

Anyway, come back often to see updates on our first home!

Happy Birthday & Sagittarius Inspired Home Decor

I love Joss & Main!
And I am loving their Sagittarius inspired sale going on now!
I love all the arrows, chevrons, and bold colors!
Would be so adorable in my new house that we don't have yet...
That is a story for another day.
It all makes sense though to me now why I love bow & arrows so much...
Maybe it doesn't have as much to do with Katniss as I thought?
Hahaha... anyway, today is my birthday and so I figured this was a perfect
home decor inspired post for me!

Dream Room Thursdays #4: Wild Rustic Bedroom

This week's room I put together is very au naturel with a wild rustic feel to it.
How absolutely amazing is that canopy bed?
That would be like a dream come true for me.
And how gorgeous is that horse picture???

Dream Room Thursdays #3: Floral Prints & Black Accent Wall

This is one of my favorite rooms on my Home Decor pinterest board.
I am in love the girly floral print blanket with the bold black accent wall.
My last bedroom had a navy blue accent wall & I loved it!
I can't wait until we can paint... hopefully in our next home.
Anyway, I feel like this room manages to be girly but not too girly.
Which is how I attempt to decorate our bedroom.
Gotta make it man friendly for the bf but still have touches of girliness. :)

Dream Room Thursdays #3: Floral Prints & Black Accent Walls

Anyway, I have one busy weekend ahead of me!
2 promotions, 2 wedding dress selling shifts, 2 weddings.
Gonna be an exhausting yet rewarding weekend!!!! :)
& both of our weddings are at mansions! Oh la la!!!
Can't wait!

I'm feeling girly today.
So for my Sundays at Home today I am loving pink & gold.
Not like I would ever have a pink & gold home though...

Dream Room Thursdays #2: Home Office

I have been dreaming of having my own Home Office.
I want a lovely desk...
With lots of inspiration all over the walls.
Somewhere I can be inspired on a daily basis.
With a unique style that is not too girly with a pop of fun color.
And some really unique furniture pieces.
That combines modern with rustic.

Dream Room Thursdays #2: Home Office

My style is all over the place...
Maybe that's why I have such a hard time decorating my own house.
I like random things & it's hard for me to envision if it will all go together.
Lol well I guess if that's my style it matches my personality..
Because if there's one thing I am it is all over the place, random & spontaneous.
Anyway, I have some meetings today with Layla & brides! Can't wait!
And gotta get the last minute touches ready for the inspiration shoot on Sunday!
I'll share some sneak peaks later! :)
Have a great day everyone!!

Dream Room Thursdays #1: Baby Girl Nursery

I have a new obsession.
Fortunately for me it hasn't started costing me money yet.
And in all reality it has led me to start a new home decor series.
Right now I don't really have a regular Thursday post that I do.
& just a heads up this blog will be going through some changes in the near future.
But more on that later!
Sooooo... I decided that my Thursday posts will be for me to design a room.
Not necessarily one that I have now but ya know my dream room down the road.

Moving on, anyone out there subscribed to Joss & Main?
Well, if you're not you should be.
Everyday they feature designer home decor on huge discounts.
I love checking out the stuff.
& I just know that soon I'm going to find my dream rug on there.
Anyway, there is this one sale going on right now that you can check out here.
All the stuff just screams most-glamorous-little-girl-nursery-you-have-ever-seen-in-your-life.
& no, I am not pregnant. Not even married or engaged.
So when I say this won't be happening until down the road I am serious.
Haha.

Dream Room Thursdays #1: Baby Girl Nursery

Wouldn't all that seriously make for one adorable baby girl nursery????
Off to crafting! Enjoy your day everyone! :)

Everybody's Doing It

Well maybe not necessarily everyone.
But it definitely is all over the blogosphere & Pinterest lately.
And I decided I just had to do it too.
Terrariums.
I have been obsessed with succulents since I learned what a succulent is.
And since our living room has a somewhat dessert feel to it...
I just had to do it.
And then of course I wanted to share some inspiration! :)

Succulents Love

Seriously not sure why I love them so much.
Maybe because I love the desert.
Check out my wedding inspiration board here & this one here
See I am obsessed.
So no wonder I want some desert inspiration in my home.
Just makes sense right?
Anyway, I am off to clean! :) Have a great day!

Sundays at Home #14: Bedroom Decor

The bf & I... well mostly I am redecorating our bedroom.
I wanted something a little more sophisticated with more character.
And I wanted girly but manly all at the same time.
So think neutrals with maybe a splash of some pink....
And it needs to have things we both love.
I love snowboarding & so I want something that represents that to me.
And my boyfriend loves the beach (I do too but I mean he really loves the beach)
So I want there to be a touch of the beach too.
So far it is coming along great & I love the changes we've made.
It will definitely take awhile though considering I don't want to spend a lot of money all at once.
I can't wait until it's all done, but I think I know in the back of my head it will never be all done.
I feel like home decorating is something that I will always be updating & changing.
But anyway... for now this is my inspiration :)

Sundays at Home #14: Bedroom Decor

Oh and the bf & I just bought a baker's rack to make the cabana closet!
I have yet to find the perfect fabric but am thinking of doing a more neutral shade...
I am real nervous & hope it turns out as gorgeous as that one!
I absolutely adore the beachy feel it gives to a room without being too over the top.
But anyway, I have lots to do before I will ever share any pictures of our room now :)
I am off to bed now! Sweet dreams ya'll!
