Amber Veatch Designs

So a few months back I went to the Cultivate Workshop in Jacksonville, Florida
with Layla @ Simply Savannah Events.
You can read about it here
Anyway, I met a ton of awesome ladies working in wedding & event planning,
one of whom just started an Etsy shop!
The second day of the workshop we were all paired up to talk about our goals
& her goal was to open up a shop so I am so excited she did it!!
She really is inspiring though because I too someday hope to have an Etsy shop of my own... :)

Here are just a few things you can purchase in her shop! But be sure & check it out!

She has more in her shop but these are my favorites!
Check out what else she has here!! :)
The cool thing is that anything in her shop is customizable!
It's pretty awesome! I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Congrats Amber & your accomplishments! :)

Jamie's Baby Shower & Celebration at Home Link Party

I love link-ups & was so excited when I saw this link-up on Celebrations at Home! I found it in perfect timing to post pictures from my cousin's baby shower I hosted yesterday! I was happy with the way everything turned out! I wish the pictures were better quality but unfortunately I had to take them with my iPhone!!

Jamie's Baby Shower

I'd say the shower was a success...
I mean just look at how many gifts are on that gift table!
They filled up a whole truckload of gifts hahaha...
The food was positively delicious!
Thanks to Momma Amanda (whose pregnant with twins)
She made cucumber pimento treats with cherry tomatoes on top
& fruit salad in waffle cones
& little hot dogs
& mini caprese salad
& neon pink deviled eggs!
And aren't those favors cute?!?!
Stacy made the Cowgirl Cookies in a jar & everyone loved them!
I designed the Wishes for Baby & put up all the decor!
I love love loveeeed how the Wishes for Baby turned out!
They definitely turned out better than my whoopie pies...

Oh & I learned some good things while planning this so I wanted to share:

1. Don't underestimate the cost of printables.
I had no idea how much it was going to cost me to print the cupcake toppers & invitations. I spent over $150 on all of that. I wished I would have spent that money on more party decorations instead.
2. MAKE A BUDGET!!!!!!!!!
I think I thought that since this was a party for only 25 people it wouldn't be a big deal,
but I spent way too much on little details (spray painted mason jars, printables, whoopie pie tray, etc.)
& way too little on party decorations.
3. Don't overestimate how much food you need.
We had way too much food leftover... Bags & bags & bags of it...

Live & learn though right?!?!

Thursday DIY #1: Jamie's Baby Shower

So Thursdays is going to be anything having to do with DIY.
Whether it's for an event, wedding, home decor, anything.
So, I am planning my cousin's baby shower!
The theme is Gold Giraffes & Champagne!
[Not literal champagne, but the color champagne.. tehehe]
I have so many fun ideas & I need to get started on making everything!
A lot of the stuff I wanna use is going to be DIY so I figured it was the perfect first post to my...
Thursday DIY series!

Thursday DIY #1: Jamie's Baby Shower

To-Do List:
1. Spray paint mason jars gold
[Lovely Little Details blog has a tutorial on this...
there isn't much to it, but I just wanted to mention her since
she is a really awesome blogger & was really helpful when
I asked her a formatting question about my blogger banner!]

2. Make poms with fabric or tissue paper
[Jessica Demaio at A Simple Kind of Love has a
great tutorial on how to make fabric poms.]

3. Follow up with Kelly
[Kelly is doing all the desserts for the shower.
Kelly is absolutely amazing to work with so far!
I e-mailed her & said can you do all the desserts on my Pinterest?
She said yes, I said you're hired!!!!]

4. Print out the Printable Invitations, Food Labels, & Cupcake Toppers
[Lauren at Details Beyond Design has been amazing with this!
I saw a Giraffe baby shower invite by her & she customized the colors for me!
She even put up with my lack-of-ability-in-using-Pay-Pal
& I'm so excited to feature her amazing printables!!]

Cultivate Workshop

This weekend I went to the Cultivate WorkshopBeing here has been such an inspiring experience to see all these young women who are so successful doing what they love & what they want to be doing. It gives me inspiration that I can do this too. So many brainstorming ideas... !

The speakers here have been amazing & I am so so glad I came!
I wanted to feature something from each of their sites of something I really like!

1. Cassandra Cherneski from Flaire Weddings
She was the leader of the conference & she did an amazing job! She talked about starting & building your company w/a strong foundation & her husband talked about the legal side of business. I also got to meet her amazing assistant, Amber! Along w/event planning she has a rentals company with these awesome chairs! I'm loving the preppy feel of the navy & hot pink in this photo!

I've seen her site before & though... Can I be this person & do her job? I was so excited when I realized she was there!! She talked about branding, marketing & finding the right client. She specializes in gorgeous event design! I definitely recommend checking out her site & blog!! & how amazing is that dessert table?!
3. Lauren from Every Last Detail
She is a full-time blogger. Talk about an amazing job! Anyway, she talked about blogging (obviously), social media & editorial coverage! She has an amazing wedding blog & this adorable picture is from a great post she wrote on Wedding Expectations that she breaks down by Wedding Day, Wedding Planning & Wedding Vendor Expectations. I'd highly recommend brides-to-be follow her!!

I just cannot describe what a great experience it was!
It is all so exciting & I am so anxious to start working at all the weddings Layla has booked!
Countdown: 4 weeks till Wedding Madness!

Oh & randomly I decided to change my signature.
The old one was too meh, playful & childish so I wanted something more...
elegant?
I'm not sure I accomplished it but I like it better for the time being!

Southern Girls Bridal Expo

Yesterday Layla & I worked at the Southern Girls Bridal Expo!
She is the owner of Simply Savannah Events & I am her assistant!
It was a lot of fun meeting brides & seeing other companies in the industry!
Of course one of the most fun parts was setting up our booth!
I love the way it all turned out!
I made the chevron table cloths (surprise surprise!) & used some of
my chevron fabric & the same color floral fabric scraps to wrap it around the cigar box & vase.
It was a really fun rustic/DIY/vintage/chic setup & I am just loving it all!
One of Layla's visions for her company is being green & environmentally friendly,
& I would have to say our booth really fit within her business,
I think the only thing that she bought for the whole booth was the flowers,
But everything else was all things that she & I already had.
I am really loving the cigar boxes & scrabble pieces!
