Amish Friendship Bread

Yesterday I got a package in the mail.
From a very quirky, emphasis on quirky friend from college.
Now this friend is pretty freaking amazing.
We met when I was a freshman rushing for Alpha Phi, the sorority I joined.
Ahhh no words can describe how silly/crazy/cool/fun/awesome Terra is.
She is also one of my few friends from real life who has a blog like me!
Check her's out here! It's pretty freaking cool.

I mean really freaking cool, here's some of my favorite pictures of us from college.
I think it shows just how quirky & amazing & freaking awesome not only Terra is,
But our friendship too! :) I think of Terra as someone I will stay friends with for forever.
{Disclaimer: SORRY TERRA if this embarrasses you!!!!}

Now back to the package...
First, this was my expression while opening the package...

And this is what was in the package...

So today I added the sugar & milk & mashed it up!
Come back in 4 days to see the end results!!!!
Bet you wish you had a friend like Terra now eh??
Thanks Terra bo Berra you da best!!!

Wedding #40: Tiffany Blue & Pink Hollywood Glamour

This is going to be a really fun post today for
my Monday Wedding Inspiration because this is the first inspiration board
I've ever made for someone else's wedding!
Ivana & I got in contact back in February & I asked if I could make an inspiration board
for her wedding she is planning! When she said yes I was sooo excited!
She has a super cute blog & I've been following for awhile now!
Make sure & check out her blog, Macarons & Pearls

Now to the fun stuff, since I've never made an inspiration board for someone else, I wanted to make sure I got a good idea of how she envisioned her wedding... so here are some of the key things:

Theme: Old Hollywood & glamour with a touch of Paris & New York
Colors: pink and Tiffany blue
Details: flowers in crystal vases, candles, candles, more candles
Fun stuff: piano player
Dress: must stand out, lace, tulle, embellishments, pearls, Swarovski crystals, with a veil
The Proposal: Her fiance proposed in New York in
Bryant Park under the Empire State Building lights :) (How romantic!)
Location: Slovakia (her home country--WHOA!) in May after their 5th anniversary
Venue: charming hotel under an old castle, ceremony will be in a garden
Pinterest Inspiration: Style by Ivana

Wedding Inspiration #40: Ivana's Tiffany Blue & Pink Hollywood Glamour

Thanks Ivana for letting me make this for you!!! :)
This was a blast to put together & I seriously love the colors & the Parisian/Hollywood feeling,
although I didn't do very well at bringing in some New York inspiration.
But anyway I can't wait to see how her gorgeous wedding turns out!

If you are interested in having me make an inspiration board for your upcoming wedding
Please e-mail me at nschwalge@gmail.com!
I would love to make you a personalized inspiration board!! :)

Friday Fancies #28: Luck of the Irish

This Friday Fancies theme is of course St. Patty's Day! Living in Savannah should make this a very interesting holiday. The city has I guess one of the largest St. Patrick's Day celebration in the world, not including Ireland. They're expecting 1 million people.

Friday Fancies #28: Luck of the Irish

I don't really have any green in my closet...
except I do own 1 cutout shoulder shirt & a neon green backless summer shirt...
But this was a fun post to put together!
& while finding things for the post, I ran across these amazing wedges
& would really appreciate owning them soon... just saying.
Also, you must must must go check out the shop where I found that necklace & ring!
It's the Etsy shop, Michelle Chang Jewelry
Her stuff is seriously awesome!!!!
Anyway, I hope everyone has an amazing St. Patty's day!
I sure hope I do too!!!
Savannah is already seriously packed.
I worked a promotion last night downtown & tons of streets are closed
3 parking garages were full and the place was crazy already.
So it should definitely be an interesting time to say the least...

Wedding #39: Luck of the Irish

I studied abroad in Ireland for 2 1/2 monthes after my sophomore year in college.
It was such an amazing experience & I absolutely loved the country.
So let's take a little trip back to Ireland with an Irish inspired wedding board
Just in time for St. Patty's day! :)

Wedding Inspiration #39: Luck of the Irish

Fun fact:
In ancient times, Irish brides wore blue dresses to symbolize purity.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how St. Patrick's Day in Savannah is.
I hear some really crazy ridiculous things.
I'm working at some weddings this weekend but will be done
Just in time to enjoy the festivities.
We'll see how it goes....
I know I'll definitely be having a Guinness before the day is over!
Although the Guinness is the states come no where near as delicious
as the Guinness in Dublin, Ireland!
What great adventures I had while I was there...
I seriously want to go back someday & explore the city I called home for 10 weeks!!

Dream Wedding #10: Mustaches

Hmmmmm... I'm having a brain freeze.
No creative juices rolling at all.
Brain is inactive today.
So... I just decided to do this Wedding Wednesday post on Mustaches.
Ya, no reason behind it at all other than it sounded fun/funny.
And I like to laugh yo. ;)

Dream Wedding #9: Yummy Yummy Donuts

Today I have little time to blog.
Because I am finishing up my project for school.
Tomorrow is my last day!
I am excited but kind of bummed to be done, because I have really enjoyed it.
And I am super nervous about printing out my menu
Because it is a freaking CIRCLE.
This should be interesting...
Anyway, instead of a wedding inspiration board
I decided to do a Dream Wedding post that is all about donuts
If you're wondering why donuts!? Then look at this post & you'll understand!
Enjoy :)

Dream Wedding #9: Yummy Yummy Donuts

Hey!
Those donuts in the very last picture are from Voodoo Doughnuts!
Ya know how I know?
Oh maybe because I had to recreate all those donuts in Illustrator....
Yaaaaaaaa... took me a long time but now I know all their donuts by heart.
They should probably hire me but anyways...
That picture is from a really cool Vintage DIY Portland wedding...
For all you fellow Portlanders (like meeeeeee) go check it out here!!!
Well, and all you out there who just love pretty vintage DIY weddings...

Today was a really rough day for me & was kinda just off.
I really really really hope tomorrow is a better day!
Sweet dreams all! I am up way too late right now...

Jamie's Baby Shower & Celebration at Home Link Party

I love link-ups & was so excited when I saw this link-up on Celebrations at Home! I found it in perfect timing to post pictures from my cousin's baby shower I hosted yesterday! I was happy with the way everything turned out! I wish the pictures were better quality but unfortunately I had to take them with my iPhone!!

Jamie's Baby Shower

I'd say the shower was a success...
I mean just look at how many gifts are on that gift table!
They filled up a whole truckload of gifts hahaha...
The food was positively delicious!
Thanks to Momma Amanda (whose pregnant with twins)
She made cucumber pimento treats with cherry tomatoes on top
& fruit salad in waffle cones
& little hot dogs
& mini caprese salad
& neon pink deviled eggs!
And aren't those favors cute?!?!
Stacy made the Cowgirl Cookies in a jar & everyone loved them!
I designed the Wishes for Baby & put up all the decor!
I love love loveeeed how the Wishes for Baby turned out!
They definitely turned out better than my whoopie pies...

Oh & I learned some good things while planning this so I wanted to share:

1. Don't underestimate the cost of printables.
I had no idea how much it was going to cost me to print the cupcake toppers & invitations. I spent over $150 on all of that. I wished I would have spent that money on more party decorations instead.
2. MAKE A BUDGET!!!!!!!!!
I think I thought that since this was a party for only 25 people it wouldn't be a big deal,
but I spent way too much on little details (spray painted mason jars, printables, whoopie pie tray, etc.)
& way too little on party decorations.
3. Don't overestimate how much food you need.
We had way too much food leftover... Bags & bags & bags of it...

Live & learn though right?!?!
