Wedding #38: Rainbows & Doves

Last Saturday was my little nephew's birthday... how freaking cute is he!?!?! That's a picture from the last time I saw him... in MAY!!!! It has obviously been way too long. I am so excited to get to see my 3 nephews again. They are the cutest things in the world & I miss them! I pretty much grew up with the older two, but haven't spent much time with baby Rocco so I want to spend a lot of time with him when I go home this summer. It is overdue & he best know his "Aunt Cole"!

Last Saturday also was my mom's birthday. She would have been turning 57 that day.
Unfortunately, she lost her life at the age of 35 in 1990, just two days before Mother's Day.
I never knew my mom. & I don't really know much about her,
I have no idea what she liked, her personality, etc.
But what I do know is rainbows & doves have always been a very
special symbol of my mom to me & my family.

At a very young age, I remember someone in my family telling me
that on the day of my mom's funeral there was a circular rainbow in the sky
with doves flying around it & that ever since that day it's been a symbol of my mom.
For this Monday morning wedding inspiration, I wanted to incorporate both of these symbols
into a very special post remembering my mom.

Wedding Inspiration #38: Rainbows & Doves

Like how that first picture is me doing the dove toss at the Bohemian shoot?
And the 2nd picture is an actual image I took while road tripping to Whistler, Canada.
If you haven't ever road tripped from Washington to Whistler
I would highly recommend it.
& I would also recommend doing a dove toss at your wedding!
It's so sweet... they aren't called love doves for nothing...
Doves mate for life, so the companies will bring one of the mates
Then when you throw them in the air they fly back to their mates.
Sometimes over 50 miles (I think is what she said!)
Isn't that incredible???
Anyway, have a fabulous Monday!!
I have a busy week prepping for my cousin's baby shower!
Pom making was in full force last night... my bf even helped...
